I am for the right-to-work laws due to its attempts to restore the power balance between labor and management. It has also succeeded in enabling employers to a higher worker, whether or not the workers are in the Union or when they are not affiliated with any union (Lepie, 2014). These laws also provide for freedom of choice, which is a constitutional right of every citizen. As such, workers do not feel pressured to register into any union. How can a right-to-work law impact an organization? The laws give unions less support making them less aggressive. Organizations, therefore, have increased chances for business investments (NCSL, 2020) Right-to-work laws directly influence worker’s ability to sustain unions and minimize workers’ ability to negotiate better working conditions, increased wages. The right help organizations formulate contracts that favour both the workers and their side. Does operating in a right-to-work state add value for an organization? Why or why not? Operating in a right-to-work state does not add value to organizations since it prevents employers or unions form getting union-related fee payment from non-union employees in the current political environment (Garcia, 2019) Crusaders of these laws says, requiring payment hinders economic growth and ability to make companies less attractive to prospective employees. Does it add value for an employee? Why or why not? Right-to-work laws do add value to employees since it enables employees to work in legally unionized workplaces, and not having to necessarily join the union or paying regular union dues. Proponents of the Right-to-work laws claim that it expands the rights of workers, more so the right to decide whether or not to join a union. One is also able to withdraw at will without their jobs being terminated and still stands a chance to fair union representation.Does it add value to the state? Why or why not? The Right-to-work laws add value for the state, mainly due to its successful record of providing higher employment rates (Elise & Kimball, 2015). Based on the assertion of the U.S. Bureau of Labor States, the Right-to-work states have managed to create more jobs as opposed to the states without the laws.
